The University of Arizona or The University of Arizona (also referred to as UA, U of A, or Arizona) is a state higher education institution and research center located in the city of Tucson, Arizona, United States, which receives grants for the construction of campus facilities and research development space technology. UA is the first university in the state of Arizona, founded in 1885 (27 years before the Arizona Territory received state status). The university includes the University of Arizona College of Medicine which is one of three medical schools and the only medical school that conferred the title MD (Doctor of Medicine) in Arizona. Until the fall of 2010, the number of students was 39,086 people. [1] UA under the management of the Arizona Board of Regents. UA's mission is "to find, educate, serve and inspire." [2] The UA is an elected member of the American University Association (AAU, an organization of leading research institutions in North America) and is the only representative of the country Arizona section in this association.

The University of Arizona was approved by the Arizona Territorial Legislature, known as Thieving Thirteenth in 1885. The city of Tucson had previously hoped to receive funding for the construction of Arizona Territorial mental hospitals allocated a total of USD 100,000 instead of the USD 25,000 allocated for the construction of the only university in this territory (Arizona State University was also approved of its formation in 1885, but at that time it was planned as an Arizona teacher school, not as a university). Tucson city council members arrived late in the city of Prescott, Arizona, due to flooding in the River Salt (Arizona) and when they arrived a decision to allocate funds to territorial institutions was taken. Tucson representatives were very disappointed to receive funding allocations which were considered mere entertainment prizes.

When no one wants to go forward and provide land for the new institution decided, Tucson residents prepare to return funds to the Arizona Territory Legislature. They changed their minds after two gamblers and a businessman decided to donate the land needed to build the university. The teaching and learning process was carried out for the first time in 1891 with a total of 32 students in the Old Main building, the first building to be built on campus, and is still in use today. [3] Because there were no high schools in the Arizona Territory at that time, UA provided preparatory education programs to enter universities separately in the first 23 years of their college activities.
